uncommon visit

While you go to the dentist in order to get routine cleanings, get checked for cavities or gum disease, there can be other not-so-common reasons as to why you should book that appointment.

Headaches and Jaw Pain
Trying everything and getting nowhere when it comes to headaches or jaw pain can be incredibly frustrating. Perhaps you can consider giving us a try! Chronic headaches, especially in the morning, could be caused by teeth grinding or even TMJ. Just let us know what is bothering you, and we’ll do our best to give you some solutions.

Snoring and Sleep Apnea
Snoring and/or sleep apnea can also be answered with the dentist. We can help you figure out an oral appliance in order for you to sleep comfortably while being able to keep your airways open while you sleep. These oral appliances readjust your jaw position to promote open airways. Just let us know and we may be able to help you out!

Sores and Lumps
Although you may think it’s nothing, screening for oral cancer when you have unusual sores and/or lumps in your mouth that don’t heal is crucial. Any unusual changes in your oral tissue might require further attention. Make sure to get screened early so you have plenty of options.

Hot and Cold sensitivity
Being sensitive to hot and cold foods and liquids is definitely related to your oral health, but it can also signal enamel wear, cracked teeth, or even sinus issues. Bring it to our attention in order to help you go back to enjoying the foods you love.

Chronic Bad Breath
Having bad breath is normal, but if it is persistent and you practice good oral hygiene, then it can be an issue. This can be a sign of gum disease, infection, or even other health problems that a dentist can help identify.

Swollen and Unusual Gum Texture
Gums that are red, swollen, bleeding, or receding can indicate early stages of gum disease. It can also indicate an underlying health condition. Make sure to bring this up to us if this is happening to you.

If you’re experiencing any of these and are considering visiting a dentist, visit us! We’re able to work with children and adults alike, making sure that everyone feels comfortable and safe. Trust in us to help you out, and we’ll treat you like family.
